您可曾因網頁字型太小而難以閱讀、或因網頁快速閃爍跳動的畫面，造成眼睛不舒服的經驗？在資訊發達的時代，網路讓每個人搜尋資料、獲取知識的空間變大、速度加快，尤其政府機關及學校紛紛設立網站傳達公眾資訊。因此，網路成為一種公共空間，如何讓人人都能方便地取得所需的資訊，處在網路世界中一樣享有平等的公民權利？另一方面，科技發展越來越快速，上網的工具不再只限於桌上型電腦；手機、PDA等設備，也漸漸成為上網讀取資訊的工具。要如何讓不同的上網工具、不同的視窗大小、不同的瀏覽器都可以讀取網頁資訊呢？如何採取「可及性（Accessibility）」的設計，提昇網站親和力，以利不同的使用者、不同的連線狀況下，都能順利讀取網頁資訊，即是無障礙網路空間的重要課題。本期新知專欄特邀請資訊中心推廣組資料管理師蔡俊男先生及技術助理林智偉小姐共同介紹「無障礙網路空間」...<more>

With exploding amount of information and different access devices, the information readability associated with different devices becomes very important for their readers. To understand how to create a website which provides a comfortable reading experience has become one of the leading issues for IT. Therefore, Mr. Tsai and Miss Lin from Information Technology Center would like to introduce us the “Accessibility” design guideline. With this instruction, we will be able to ensure every reader (include the visually impaired readers) can access the information they wanted with ease. |

It’s time to look at the Webometrics World Universities’ Ranking on the Web again! According to the July 10th ranking report, among the 12,000 universities worldwide, we are proudly announce NTNU was ranked 3rd in Taiwan (behind National Taiwan Normal University and National Chiao Tung University), 27th in the entire Asia and ranked 354th in the whole world. |

ITC awards Wun, Yan Jhan, a graduate student from the chemistry department, as the ITC Best Employee of the Month. Mr. Wun is recognized for his kind effort to assist others solve computer problems and help train the new students to better serve NTNU computer users.
